Your neighborhood is different than mine. Make stock that screams “your area.” Find a major, heavily photographed landmark near you and try to shoot it in a way that hasn’t been done before.
Golden Gate Bridge? Instead of the standard shot with SF in the background, maybe focus on the beautiful iron/steel work. Yes, go ahead and do the standard that’s familiar but then push the envelope by trying something completely different.
No major landmarks? Of course there are! People just don’t know about them yet. How about the tree you walk past every morning? Shoot it in an artistic way. The piazza with a model sipping espresso.
Afraid of the outdoors? set up a studio shoot with a model acting like a tourist in your city. No models? do you have any little things in your house that scream “your area?” I’m in Portland, OR. We drink and make coffee, wine, and beer. We’re very casually dressed, we love our individual neighborhoods. We’re highly motivated for a greener Earth.
